01 AVGS – Activation and Placement Voucher
The
AVGS is a grant provided by
Job center or the
Employment Agency is issued. With this voucher you can participate in a
certified coaching or a measure for professional integration participate -
Completely free for you.
Even if you're not registered with the job center or the employment agency, you can still receive a voucher! We're happy to advise you.
Typical AVGS measures:
- Job coaching (1:1)
- Job application training
- Language support (vocational)
- Group coaching (e.g. for women, migrants or academics)
- Stabilization before entering the labor market
💡 Important: You don't have to pay for the measure yourself – the agency or job center will cover it.

02 Education voucher (BGS) – for further education with a future
The Education voucher is government funding for professional Further education and retrainingThis voucher is also issued by Job center or employment agency awarded and usually covers the total costs the measure – including teaching materials, supervision and often also travel expenses or childcare.
Typical BGS services offered by us:
- Pedagogical assistant
- Integration and inclusion educator
- Office assistant with digital skills
✅ Prerequisite: The further training must certified according to AZAV Being – that is the case at the WEIT Academy.
03 §16k voucher – Restart measures for the long-term unemployed
The §16k voucher (according to §16k SGB II) is specifically aimed at people who unemployed for a long time The goal is to gradually return to everyday working life – with a stabilizing measure that often individually tailored is.
What is special about measures under Section 16k?
- Focus on personal stabilization and orientation
- often longer durations
- close personal support
- Building a daily routine, motivation, self-confidence
- Preparation for internships or apprenticeships
💬 This funding is not regulated uniformly nationwide – Talk to your local job center to find out if a §16k measure is an option for you.
How do I apply for a voucher at the job center or employment agency?
Get good advice
Get information directly from a certified training provider like the WEIT Academy. We offer free, no-obligation consultations on suitable courses, coaching, and funding opportunities, and will provide you with a concrete offer for the job center or employment agency. This demonstrates initiative – a major advantage!
Appointment at your agency
Contact your caseworker and explain that you have found a training program that will help you advance professionally. Submit the offer from the training provider and explain your need for funding.
Receive voucher
If the funding is approved, you will receive a
AVGS (Activation and Placement Voucher) or one
Education voucher issued. This applies to a specific measure and a specific period.
Course start at the WEIT Academy
Once you have the voucher, we'll take care of everything else: registration, course start, schedule – you can get started right away, either
online (nationwide) or at our locations in
Berlin and Leipzig.
Good to know: You can redeem your voucher at ANY provider. It's important to us that you take advantage of this opportunity, whether with US or at another academy!

Are your courses really free for me?
Yes! The WEIT Academy is AZAV-certified, which means our courses can be 100% funded with an AVGS, education voucher, or §16k voucher. You don't pay a cent – the job center or employment agency covers the costs.
Who receives a voucher?
An AVGS or education voucher can be issued if:
- you are looking for work or are unemployed
- you receive benefits from the job center or the employment agency
- a measure improves your chances on the job market
People on parental leave, with a migration background, or returning after a long break can often receive funding. Feel free to contact us – we'll advise you personally and support you with your application.
Can I also use your services online?
Yes! All our programs can be completed online nationwide. Whether you live in Berlin, Leipzig, or elsewhere – you can participate from home.
Do you also offer in-person classes?
Yes, you can also attend our courses in person at our locations in Berlin or Leipzig. Many courses are also hybrid, meaning partly online and partly in person.
Can I redeem my AVGS voucher with you?
You can redeem your AVGS voucher with us if you would like to participate in, for example, job coaching, career guidance, language training, or a group program for women. All offers are individually customizable.
How does the registration process work with you?
It's very simple: You contact us, we'll advise you individually and create a suitable offer. You then take this to your job center – after approval, we'll start your program together.
What are the benefits of coaching for me?
Coaching helps you gain professional clarity, recognize your strengths, and work purposefully towards your goals. Whether you want to reorient yourself, apply for jobs, or simply get back into your daily routine – we provide individual support.
I haven't worked in a long time – is coaching still worthwhile?
That's precisely when coaching is especially helpful! We meet you where you are, without pressure or judgment. The goal is to develop new perspectives together and strengthen your self-confidence.
How does a coaching session work with you?
After an initial, no-obligation consultation, we'll tailor your coaching process to your individual needs. Sessions typically take place 2-3 times per week – online or in person, depending on your requirements. We'll work around your schedule!
I don't speak perfect German – can I still participate?
Yes! Many of our coaches are multilingual and intercultural. We also offer specialized language training for professional purposes – e.g., German language training combined with application assistance.
Can I get out of the car at any point if it doesn't suit me?
We place great value on trust and openness. If you realize that you need something different, we will discuss alternatives or a change in the program together.
Are there group sessions available, or is it only individual coaching?
Both! We offer individual coaching (e.g., for applications & job finding) as well as group formats – e.g., for women, people with a migration background, or career restarts.
